Overview
The Acrosser ARB1560 motherboard used in M15 and M400 units from December 1998 to January 2000 do
not support hard drives larger than 8 gig This document describes how to flash the BIOS of the ARB1560
motherboard so that hard drives larger than 8 gig can be supported
Flashing The BIOS Â
1 Verify the unit has an Acrosser ARB1560 motherboard by contacting Centroid Technical Support
2 Boot the unit and enter CMOS setup by pressing DEL
3 Edit the Advanced Settings such that the boot sequence is A C Save settings and exit
4 Insert the 1560 flash diskette and boot the system from the floppy The flash diskette is available from
Centroid Technical Support
5 At the A \ prompt type in flash646 hd rom /a
6 Remove the diskette and reboot the system A checksum error can be expected at this point
7 Enter CMOS setup and select AUTO CONFIGURATION WITH OPTIMAL SETTINGS
8 While in setup restore the boot sequence to C A Save settings and exit
9 The motherboard will now recognize hard disk drives larger than 8 Gigabytes
