TB091 Rev1 Checking System ID and Unlocking Options
Overview
This document describes the way to check the system ID which is a series of letters and the proper way to
unlock options Â
Checking the system ID
Systems with software version 7 02 and above are equipped with Demo software for up to 45 days when this
runs out the system may be locked on a screen that states demo mode has expired If at this screen pressing
F2
will display the system ID across the middle of the screen Â
If the system is in normal operation retrieving the ID is only slightly different
1 Starting at the main screen Setup Load MDI across the bottom of the screen Press for setup
2 Next press F3 Configuration
3 Enter the password of 137
4 Press F3 Parameters
5 Press F2
to display the system ID There will not be a description of the F2
key but it will display the ID
across the middle of the screen Again this will be a series of letters approximately 8 to 11 characters long
6 If running version 8 20 or later you can access the system ID by pressing F7 Utilities
and then F8
Options
The system ID will be displayed on the lower right of the screen Â
Unlocking Options
In order to receive option unlocks Centroid Technical Support must be contacted to process an unlock
request A fax sheet with the option parameters will then be sent out for the requested unlocks Note that
permanent unlocks will be faxed only to the dealer who purchased the control from Centroid
There are
two methods of unlocking options depending on the situation Â
1 If the control is locked out of the software and at the "demo mode has expired" screen pressing F1
will
bring up the special parameter number box to enter the parameter number After entering the parameter
number another box will appear to allow entering the value for that parameter
2 If the unit is in normal operation follow steps one through four above to enter the parameters screen and
then press F1
A box will pop up requesting the special parameter number that can be entered and then the
option code can be entered
Examples Â
Example 1 The control is locked out of the software and a new demo code is to be entered The parameter for
demo code is 297 For this example the unlock code will be 1111 1111
1 Press F1
to get the special parameters box
2 Type in 297 and press Enter
This will bring up the parameter value window
3 Enter 1111 1111 for parameter value and press F10 Save

Example 2 The control is in operation and it is desired to enter a Millwrite unlock The parameter for Millwrite
is 500 and for this example the unlock code will be 12345 4321
1 Press F1 Setup
from the main screen of the control
2 Press F3 Configuration
3 Enter 137 for the Password
4 Press F3 Parameters
5 Press F1
for special parameters
6 Type in the parameter number of 500 and press Enter
7 Enter 12345 4321 for parameter value and press F10 Save
